2. What We Collect

We collect the minimum information needed to operate the service:

Email address — when you subscribe to event alerts or post an event. Used only to send confirmations and event notifications.
Event submission data — event title, date, location, organizer name, and description you submit when posting an event.
Location data — only if you grant permission, used to sort events by distance. Your coordinates are never stored on our servers.
Saved events and preferences — stored locally on your device (localStorage), never sent to our servers.

We do NOT collect: your name, phone number, social media accounts, browsing history, or any information beyond what's listed above.

3. How We Use Your Data

To send event approval confirmations when you post an event
To send event alert emails (only if you subscribed)
To improve the quality of event listings

We do NOT use your data for advertising, profiling, or sharing with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. No Advertising

Evently is ad-free. We do not display advertisements and do not use your data to show you targeted ads anywhere.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data only with:

Service providers — hosting (Netlify) and database (Supabase) providers, under strict data agreements
Legal requirements — if required by law

6. Email Notifications

If you subscribed to event alerts, you can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email, or by emailing support@niledreamsdigital.com.

7. Location Data

Location access is optional. If you grant it, your device coordinates are used only to calculate event distances in your browser. These coordinates are not transmitted to or stored on our servers.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access — request a copy of any personal data we hold about you
Delete — request deletion of your personal data
Correct — request correction of inaccurate information
Opt out — unsubscribe from email alerts at any time

9. Cookies & Local Storage

We use browser localStorage (not cookies) to remember your saved events, going list, and notification preferences. This data stays on your device and is never sent to our servers. You can clear it at any time from your browser settings.
